Selection of a Representative Value Function for Robust Ordinal Regression in Group Decision Making

Abstract: In this paper, we introduce the concept of a representative value function in a group decision context. We extend recently proposed methods UTA GMS -GROUP and UTADIS GMS -GROUP with selection of a compromise and collective preference model which aggregates preferences of several decision makers (DMs) and represents all instances of preference models compatible with preference information elicited from DMs. The representative value function is built on results of robust ordinal regression, so its representative… Show more

“…Greco et al [52] extended UTADIS GMS introducing the concept of the representative value function in robust ordinal regression with the aim of considering complete sets of instances of a preference model compatible with the information provided by the DM; it means that the representativeness of a selected value function is understood in the sense of robustness preoccupation. This method was also extended to group decision in [53] with the same considerations of the method proposed by [50], but considering the representative value function in robust ordinal regression.…”

“…Consequently, if preferences of the DM do not violate dominance and are not contradictory, it is very likely that they could be reproduced by the model used in ROR. Nevertheless, ROR has been also adapted to group decision Kadziński et al 2013b). …”

“…When it comes to an example-based value driven sorting procedure, classes are implicitly delimited by some assignment examples rather than threshold on a utility scale (see, e.g., [11,17]). Precisely, such a procedure is driven by a value function U and its associated assignment examples.…”
