Selective Detection of Dopamine in the Presence of Uric Acid Using NiO Nanoparticles Decorated on Graphene Nanosheets Modified Screen‐printed Electrodes

Abstract: A convenient, low cost, and sensitive electrochemical method, based on a disposable graphene nanosheets (GR) and NiO nanoparticles modified carbon screen printed electrode (NiO/GR/SPE), is described for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA). The modified electrode exhibited good electrocatalytic properties toward the oxidation of DA and UA. A peak potential difference of 150 mV between DA and UA was large enough to determine DA and UA individually and simultaneously. The anodic pea… Show more

“…Not surprisingly, therefore, they have been used in assorted fields, such as medicine, engineering, industry, and material science, etc. [76][77][78][79][80][81][82][83][84][85][86][87]. These structures have several optimized features, namely their ability to function over a wide range of temperatures and pH, antimicrobial properties, and magnetic conductivity [88].…”

“…[2,10] Moreover, the accumulation of the oxidation products of the analytes at the surface of the electrode leads to the electrode poisoning and results in the loss of reusability, selectivity and reproducibility. Fortunately, the use of chemically modified electrodes can overcome the mentioned problems and improve the determination of DA, AA, and UA, to distinguish the oxidation potentials of the three species and achieve the simultaneously detection, [8,11,12] which cannot be achieved by the optical or ECL method.…”

“…FA is a form of the water‐soluble vitamin B 9 . Lack of FA gives rise to the gigantocytic anemia, associated with leucopenia, devolution of mentality, psychosis, etc . Also, FA works primarily in the brain and nervous system and is necessary for the production of NE in the nervous system.…”
