Self-Powered Temperature Sensor with Seebeck Effect Transduction for Photothermal–Thermoelectric Coupled Immunoassay

Abstract: A self-powered temperature sensor based on Seebeck effect transduction was designed for photothermal−thermoelectric coupled immunoassay of α-fetoprotein (AFP). In this system, glucose oxidase (GOx)-conjugated detection antibody was first captured onto the microplate by target-induced sandwich-type immunoreaction. Thereafter, the as-generated hydrogen peroxide via the GOx−glucose system oxidized 3,3′,5,5′-tetrametylbenzidine (TMB) into photothermal product oxidized TMB (ox-TMB). Under near-infrared (NIR) laser … Show more

“…Immunoassays are bio-analytical approaches in which the interaction of an analyte (i.e., antigen) and an antibody is the basis of the measuring of a specific analyte [ 126 , 127 ]. In this regard, an immunosensing assay is designated as an analytical method in which antibodies or antibody parts are used to recognize biomolecules.…”

“…The application in the temperature sensor has attracted much attention. Ther-mosensitive polymers often used in temperature sensors include poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT: PSS) [16,[104][105][106], poly(3-hexyl thiophene) (P3HT) [107], polypyrrole (PPy) [57], pentacene [101], poly (N-isopropyl acrylamide) (pNIPAM) [108], poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) [109][110][111][112][113], etc.…”

“…Immunoassays have the advantages of high sensitivity and specicity, simple and rapid operation, low cost and a large analysis capacity, 15,16 and they have been used in the rapid screening and monitoring of a large number of targets, including thiamethoxam and dextran. Kim et al prepared an anti-thiamethoxam polyclonal antibody (pAb) and developed an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), with the halfmaximal inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ) of 9.0 ng mL À1 .…”
