Sensing throughput trade‐off for an energy efficient cognitive radio network under faded sensing and reporting channel

Abstract: The trade-off between sensing time and throughput is investigated in the context of an energy-efficient cognitive radio network considering both the sensing and reporting channels are Rayleigh faded, while the existing literature considered the fading in sensing channel only. In this paper, such a trade-off is re-examined under Rayleigh faded sensing as well as reporting channel. Novel analytical expressions for overall detection probability and false alarm probability are developed under such scenario. The pe… Show more

“…In a cellular network, CU's activity is random, 22 so there is a chance of data collision with D2D users. Bhowmick et al 23 have studied the throughput performance of a cellular network under the collision constraint. Zhang et al 11 have considered dynamic spectrum access and coding technology to maximize the reachable rate in the single path unicast scenario using a reinforcement learning‐based algorithm.…”

“…EE was evaluated in a CR system considering the Rayleigh fading both in the sensing and reporting channels. 14 Hasan et al proposed a novel distributive heuristic channel assignment (DHCA) approach to maximize the throughput under the constraint of minimum queuing delay in. 15 In, 16 EE in the centralized cognitive radio network (CRN) was maximized by using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm considering the spectrum switching delay and minimum rate requirement.…”

“…The throughput of a CRN in fading channel is also investigated in literature. [7][8][9] Moreover, to make the communication green, EH-based communication has gained a point of research interest in recent days. The EH scheme often eliminates energy constraints in wireless systems.…”
