“…Zhang and co-workers [ 34 ] synthesized nitrogen-doped CDs (N-CDs) with strong blue luminescence, achieving a PL QY of 35.4%. Xavier’s group [ 35 ] developed an environmentally friendly and high efficient fluorescence sensor based on N-CDs. The as-prepared N-CDs with a PL QY of 34.5% showed an excellent selectivity towards Hg 2+ ions.…”

“…Identically, with the addition of the polar and positively charged amino acid such as lys, the polar and negative charged amino acid such as glu, polar neutral amino acids such as gly and thr, the emission intensity of the 1 ‐based Cu 2+ ‐quenching system could be hardly enhanced due to the lack of chelation interaction with the Cu 2+ ion (Figure b) ,. [10a], The above results fully prove that the 1 ‐based Cu 2+ ‐quenching system is selective to detect cys. Furthermore, we measured the FL emission spectra the 1 ‐based Cu 2+ ‐quenching system in different concentrations (0.02–0.32 m m ) of cys, the emission intensities of the system are gradually recovered with the addition of cys (Figure a), which exhibits a linear relation in the range from 0.02 to 0.14 m m .…”

“…In addition, cysteine (cys) is one of the amino acids that possess multiple beneficial effects on the human body such as assisting the intracellular redox homeostasis, protein synthesis, and metabolism. The anomalous levels of cys in physiological system result in various hazardous symptoms including liver damage, immunodeficiency syndrome, and brain ischemia . The research on detecting cys has always been a particularly fascinating area.…”

“…The uorescence on the distance-based paper device is similar to the behavior of NCDs and Hg 2+ in solution. 15,16,40,45,46 In the UV-vis absorption spectra in Fig. 1a, a new absorption peak appears at 300 nm in the presence of Hg 2+ and higher absorbance intensity was found with increasing Hg 2+ concentration.…”
