Abstract:A synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) system borne by an autonomous underwater vehicle is state-of-the-art for highresolution sea floor mapping. In the application of automatic target recognition, e.g., for naval mine hunting, the highresolution SAS images serve as input to a detection and classification post-processing stage, which highly relies on excellent image quality. Future autonomous mine hunting systems must include an assessment scheme to ensure sufficient quality for performing target recognition. We pro… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
