Service evaluation through FH‐entropy method: A framework for the elderly care station

Abstract: The elderly care station is a new concept, which is the terminal service institution of the home-based elderly care system in Beijing. Because its supervision of service quality (SQ) is not standardized and its current subsidy is irrelevant to SQ, this paper provides a framework for an evaluation system of the elderly care station. An SQ evaluation index system for the elderly care station is designed according to the service and construction standards. A fuzzy hierarchical entropy method is then used to ident… Show more

“…These subsidies, provided by the Chinese government, played a crucial role in facilitating the growth of the elderly service industry, leading to a substantial increase in the institutional elderly service capacity from 2008 to 2018 (Feng et al, 2011(Feng et al, , 2020Zhanlian Feng et al, 2014), thus confirming the guiding role of subsidies in influencing the behavior of elderly service enterprises. However, previous subsidy strategies did not consider service quality, and the absence of adequate government supervision allowed for the potential expansion of enterprises solely to obtain subsidies, often leading to a decline in service quality (Li et al, 2020a). Therefore, in response to service quality concerns, the Chinese government is currently supporting elderly service enterprises through subsidy policies that aim to enhance service quality across multiple dimensions (Feng et al, 2020).…”

“…FCE is a comprehensive assessment method based on fuzzy theory that can effectively evaluate objectives with fuzzy qualities [39,40] by considering the multiple fuzzy attributes of the evaluated items [41]. This well-developed method has been widely applied in diverse research areas, such as urban development, planning and decision making [42][43][44], cultural and creative industry policies [45], safety assessments of food waste feed [46], environmental water safety evaluations [40], evaluating service systems in elderly care stations [47], and assessing the quality of innovative face mask designs [39]. The results of these studies suggest that FCE is also suitable for evaluating the tea utensil set designed in this study.…”
