Shape Memory Behavior of Superplastic Ti‐4.5Al‐3V‐2Fe‐2Mo Alloy

Abstract: In this study, the effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and shape memory behavior of Ti-4.5Al-3V-2Fe-2Mo (mass%) alloy (SP-700) was investigated. The volume fraction of phase in the as-received material decreased after annealing at above 1073 K. The martensitic transformation start temperature (Ms) increased with increasing annealing temperature. Neither shape memory effect nor superelasticity was observed in the as-received material, while both of them were confirmed in annealed specimens.
