Abstract:In this study, the effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and shape memory behavior of Ti-4.5Al-3V-2Fe-2Mo (mass%) alloy (SP-700) was investigated. The volume fraction of phase in the as-received material decreased after annealing at above 1073 K. The martensitic transformation start temperature (Ms) increased with increasing annealing temperature. Neither shape memory effect nor superelasticity was observed in the as-received material, while both of them were confirmed in annealed specimens.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
