Abstract:The strong basicity of fluoride ions leads to detrimental nucleophilic attack on organic components in the electrolytes, such as β‐hydrogen elimination reactions with organic cations and solvents, converting “naked” F− into corrosive and unstable bifluoride (HF2−) ions.
