Shock Wave Formation and Cloaking in Hyperelastic Rods

Abstract: The analysis of propagating an initially harmonic acoustic pulse in a semi-infinite hyperelastic rod obeying the Yeoh strain energy potential reveals attenuation with distance of the wave amplitudes caused by the elastic energy dissipation due to forming and propagation of the shock wave fronts and heat production.
