Abstract:Sickle-cell disease (SCD) a hereditary autosomal recessive disorder is the most common haemoglobinopathy worldwide. In India, it is the second most common haemoglobinopathy next to Thalassemia, prevalent in the tribal population of Central and Southern parts of India.
