Sickle Cell Trait Appears to Increase the Risk of Hemorrhagic Stroke in African Adults with Dyslipidaemia: A Pilot Study

Abstract: Background: The association of sickle cell trait (HbAS) with stroke occurrence, type, and outcome is controversial. HbAS has now been regarded as a disease state such that a 10-fold increase in the risk of haemorrhagic stroke has been observed.
