Abstract:Polyurea (PU) elastomers have attracted considerable attention in the field of protective polymeric coatings. In this work, a dithiol‐terminated boronic ester was synthesized and used to incorporate dynamic boron–oxygen (B–O) bonds in the PU main chain based on thiol isocyanate while amino‐terminated polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) was introduced to retain good chain flexibility. The modified PU elastomer was found to have a microphase‐separated structure in which the hard blocks served as physical crosslinks. The… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
