Silipide: A New Bioavailable Complex of Silybin

Abstract: Within the framework of a systematic research on flavonoids, the main flavanolignan constituent of Silybum marianum seeds, silybin, was isolated. By complexation with phosphatidylcholine, a lipophilic derivative 1dB 1016 (Silipide, proposed INN) was obtained, which exhibits much greater solubility in many organic solvents (1).
