Silver Nanoparticles Modified Graphitic Carbon Nitride Nanosheets as a Significant Bifunctional Material for Practical Applications

Abstract: Amine‐functionalized graphitic carbon nitride (NH2/GCN) nanosheets photoluminescence, catalytic properties and excellent water dispersion stability were prepared and characterized by a variety of different analytical and spectroscopic techniques. The well‐dispersed NH2/GCN nanosheets were found to exhibit remarkable pH sensing sensitivity at an ambient temperature with desirable broad detection range (1 ≤ pH ≤ 12). Moreover, upon incorporating silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), the Ag‐NH2/GCN nanocomposites showed… Show more

“…S-GCN displays a wrinkled flakelike structure, which is a typical morphological feature of S-GCN. It can be seen that the obtained MoN particles showed a rodlike shape and possess smooth surfaces, which is in agreement with a previous work . The morphology of the MoN nanorods can be maintained very well with the support of S-GCN (MoN@S-GCN) and the surface becomes a bit rough (see Figure S5).…”

The exact structures of the MoN nanorods and MoN@S-GCN nanocomposite were further studied by HR-TEM images (vide infra).…”

“…Recently, graphitic carbon nitride (GCN) has attracted widespread attention due to its outstanding and unique chemical, electronic, and ionic conductivity, photosensitivity, electrocatalytic properties, and increased applications. Due to its low cost, lightweight, easy availability, and remarkably high stability, it has been applied in water splitting, photocatalysis, sensing, , bioimaging, etc. The polymeric nature of GCN is suitable for electrocatalytic materials, which have been used in a wide range of electrochemical sensing of biomolecules, phenolic compounds, and toxic metal ions .…”

“…4-Nitrophenol (4-NP) is one of the most refractory pollutants oen present in industrial effluents, but is important in the preparation of several analgesic and antipyretic drugs such as paracetamol and phenacetin. [22][23][24] In addition, 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, serotonin) is a monoamine neurotransmitter involved in a large number of physiological processes in the digestive system, mood, sleep, emesis, sexuality, and appetite. Changes in serotonin levels within the digestive system can cause neurological disorders and several diseases.…”
