Silver Nanowires Modified with PEDOT: PSS and Graphene for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Anode

Abstract: Silver nanowires (AgNWs) networks are promising candidates for the replacement of indium tin oxide (ITO). However, the surface roughness of the AgNWs network is still too high for its application in optoelectronic devices. In this work, we have reduced the surface roughness of the AgNWs networks to 6.4 nm, compared to 33.9 nm of the as-deposited AgNWs network through the hot-pressing process, treatment with poly (3,4ethylenedioxythiophene)–poly (styrenesulfanate), and covered with graphene films. Using this me… Show more

“…One key aspect in this field is the use of polymer electrodes. Consequently, conducting polymers have been heavily investigated for their potential use as polymer electrodes, in devices such as organic solar cells, organic light‐emitting diodes, sensor applications, and most recently for organic thermoelectric devices . In addition, the application of poly(3,4‐ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) in organic field effect transistors and memristors illustrates its versatility in the field of organic electronics.…”

“…[1][2][3] Conductive films are of great interest because of their various electronic and optical applications in solar cells and OLEDs. [4][5][6] Silver-nanowire polymer composites are a promising alternative to indium tin oxide. They offer a scalable process for large scale, flexible, conductive materials, as used in integrated photovoltaics, touch screens, and flexible electronics.…”

“…The sheet resistances of spray-coated Ag-NW layers are between 10 Ω/sq and 30 Ω/sq at transparencies of around 90% 10,26 . Thus, they are potential candidates for replacing indium tin oxide in, for example, solar cells 27 . Due to their high aspect ratio, ordered arrangements are possible, leading to an anisotropic conductive behavior 28,29 .…”
