Silver Patterned Supramolecular Liquid Crystalline Gels as Electrochemical Sensor of Tyrosine

Abstract: Here, we have prepared silver nanoparticle patterned functional liquid crystalline gels (SFLAG) through self-assembly process. The surface plasmon energy of SFLAGs were observed at~420 nm and FCC lattices of silver particles were confirmed with XRD. Formation of liquid crystalline gel phase was studied by microscopic techniques and rheology. Enhancement in the conductance of SFLAG modified glassy carbon electrode (SFLAG/GCE) was studied with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Finally its application is de… Show more

“…As compared to earlier reported circuits 36 , this circuit (R(Q(RW))(CR) resulted well fitting which shows specified performance of the as-prepared hybrid composite. In this, CPE was used instead of C dl due to the inhomogeneity of electrode surface 26 and the corresponding additional layer can be evaluated using R f and C f components. Interestingly, it is observed from Table S1, the charge transfer resistance on 20 kGy EB-PPy NSs was ~13 times lower than that of pristine PPy NSs implying the facile electron transfer kinetics resulted from intermolecular crosslinking behavior in polymer backbone.…”

“…However, such NPs tend to aggregate easily which provide less stable behavior during reaction. In order to prevent this, significant efforts have been made to develop stable metal nanocomposite using biomaterials such as supramolecular hydrogel 26 , cysteic acid 16 , etc. as enantiomers in tyrosine signalling.…”

“…Performances of electrochemical sensors were tested, including selectivity, repeatability, storage stability, interference from other analytes, and real‐world sample analysis using human blood serum. Tyr, a biomarker for the early diagnosis of cancer, may be detected analytically by using silver nanoparticle patterned functional liquid crystalline gels/GCEs as an electrochemical sensor [48]. Sakthivel and co‐workers reported a functionalized carbon black/poly‐L‐His modified GCE method used in their study to measure Trp amperometrically.…”

“…In recent years, stimulus responsive polymers have become a hotspot in research of advanced functional materials. , One of the most competitive candidates refers to liquid crystalline polymer (LCP), in which the ordered liquid crystal mesogens are frozen by covalently cross-linked polymer network. Because of the combination of the programmable orientation of liquid crystal and the elasticity of polymer matrix, LCP has been proved as an outstanding matrix to prepare smart actuators and soft robots, presenting great potentials in multiple fields such as biomimetic actuators, artificial muscles, , functional sensors, , and so on. In order to broaden the practical applications of the LCP materials, various LCP devices with different stimulus responses were prepared, including light, electricity, , heat, , magnetism, force, and humidity. , …”
