Simple equipment for teaching internal photoelectric effect

Abstract: In this paper, an educational tool is proposed to show the internal photoelectric effect in a simple and clear way for Undergraduate Physics courses or High Schools. Experimental evidence of the photoelectric effect is particularly important in the didactic experience. This effect is fundamental to introduce students to the world of quantum mechanics, and to the concept of quantized energy. However, it often req… Show more

“…In the final chapter of the learning area for the QP, Einstein's photoelectric theory is discussed by noting Einstein's success in explaining the photoelectric effect's characteristics by introducing the photon energy concept. His photoelectric effect equation is derived following the Principle of Conservation of energy and discusses the work function of metal and the threshold frequency of light in emitting photoelectrons with several problem-solving questions related to the equations [28]. The curriculum also highlights the photoelectric effect applications for QP concept applications, including a photocell circuit [29] at the end of the chapter.…”

“…As already mentioned, underwater, practically, ultraviolet radiation is absent. Therefore, using UV LED as light emitter and a UV LED, used as APD, as receiver allows to have a system that is not very sensitive to environment light; an LED can detect radiation with a wavelength slightly shorter than or equal to that emitted (Internal photoelectric effect) [56], [57], [78].…”

“…In this paper, GM (1, 1) model of grey prediction is introduced to solve the problem. Based on the reliable data measured by many experiments, the authors predict the rest of the data that cannot be measured by experimental equipment by mathematical calculation, and then expands the sample data of a small amount of data measured by experiments [2] to improve the accuracy of data processing. In this paper, the experimental teaching instrument of GD-1 photoelectric effect tester is taken as an example to explain…”
