Abstract:Among different piston rings of an Internal Combustion Engine (IC), the top compression ring-liner assembly shared a momentous amount of the total frictional losses, particularly at the Top Dead Center (TDC) and Bottom Dead Center (BDC) where boundary lubrication subsists.
