Abstract. To streamline construction planning, one needs to assess and perform trial modeling of organizational and process-related factors impacting the final planned performance indicators. A proper calendar plan, one that would take due account of said factors, has a substantial impact on the efficiency and, sometimes, even the feasibility of a construction project as a whole. Therefore, the purpose of this paper's research is to develop a method for determining optimum technical and economic parameters. A method should be considered legitimate which, given the labour intensity of the jobs assigned to a crew and the list of such jobs, makes it possible to determine the time said jobs will take to perform depending on the variation of the following factors: crew/unit numbers, job synchronization degree, job performance sequence, number of shifts and unit productivity. The authors have studied the algorithm and the method for the trial modeling of organizational and process-related factors when developing a calendar plan in order to identify qualitative time-specific and feasibility parameters. The paper reviews the example of how the optimum performance timelines for each crew can be determined.

The term digital transformation of the construction industry refers to the process of introducing and using new digital technologies, methods and tools to foster efficiency, productivity, and innovation in the construction industry. The digital transformation process implies the use of various digital solutions to optimize design, planning, construction, and management. The use of building information modeling (BIM) allows for better coordination between construction project stakeholders, streamlined design process and a minimum amount of 4D clashes. When applied in construction, 4D modeling enables the integration of a three-dimensional (3D) model into a time dimension (4D) for scheduling, managing, visualizing and coordinating projects at all stages of their life cycle, from preparation to operation.

The study of the basics of modeling of technical processes and objects forms the scientific basis for substantiating theoretical conclusions and postulates, classifying and developing the structures of theoretical models and justifying practical methods of preparation and implementation of (construction) production, which, in turn, influence the adoption of legal and regulatory innovations and statements. The article analyzes the types of modeling and models, scientific, technical, legal and regulatory contexts of the use of the concepts of «information modeling» in construction, and compares them with classical methods and tasks of modeling technical systems in solving scientific and engineering problems. The classification of scientific methods of modeling and models of technical objects and systems in construction is carried out. Examples of analytical models from the point of view of their classification and purpose are considered. It is shown that in the absence of clear scientific definitions of the concepts of «information», «model» and «modeling», given in terms of the actual field of knowledge, or application, the concept of «information model» comes into conflict with scientific and engineering ideas about the properties and purpose of the model. An approach is proposed to avoid the misuse of the concepts of «model» and « modeling».
