Simulation of Distributed Generation with Photovoltaic Microgrids—Case Study in Brazil

Abstract: Elevated prices and lack of proper legislation and government incentives have been the main barriers in the development of the photovoltaic market in Brazil. In an attempt to overcome those barriers, a microgrid model was proposed and simulated. In the proposed microgrids, residential consumers are connected to each other to maximize the investment return by trading the surplus of generated energy among them. Different topologies and scenarios were studied from electrical energy and economic standpoints. Stoch… Show more

“…This limit can be addressed by implementing a sensitivity analysis on critical variables [43]. In this sense, such an analysis is able to define dynamic scenarios, in line with similar studies [13,24]. The assessment can be done by considering different plant dimensions, such as 200 kW (Figure 2 ‚ Percentage of self-consumed energy (ω self,c ), assesses the level of harmonization between consumption and production of energy.…”

“…Equations (4)- (20) are utilized to express the overall module efficiency. The energy balance of PV module can be divided into thermal and electrical performance [34]. We begin with the energy balance analysis from Equation (4) [23]:…”

“…Due to the environmental and geopolitical costs of fossil fuels, a federal program was created to stimulate essential innovation in energy technologies, such as wind and solar power [1][2][3][4]. In China, the cumulative installed capacity of wind power will reach 100 GW by 2015 and will easily meet the target of 200 GW by 2020 [5,6].…”
