Simulation of hemispherical cathode-based linear plasma propulsion device upgrade

Abstract:Electromagnetic plasma propulsion is generated by the linear plasma propulsion (LPP) apparatus. The LPP device is upgraded to operate and simulate at a maximum energy of 5.4 kJ. The cathode's cylindrical upper portion is changed into a hemispherical shape as part of the upgrading process to boost the current sheath (CS) acceleration.
