Simulation of mechanical tests aimed to investigate the flow stress during the abrupt change of the strain rate

Abstract: This article describes a modeling procedure of material’s mechanical test during the abrupt change of the strain rate. Simulation results were compared with the data obtained experimentally. The numerical simulation was performed in the FE-program QFORM. The paper describes the selection of areas for further research related to the definition of mathematical models of deformation resistance, and it also contains the software requirements for the simulation of mechanical tests.
