Simulation on marine currents at Midia Cape-Constanta area using computational fluid dynamics method

Abstract: The work in volves as sess ing of the ma rine cur rent re gime in the north west of the Black Sea, Midia Cape-Constanta area. The area of in ter est is cho sen due its ex isting fea tures, us ing ma rine cur rents data (di rec tion and speed) within the CFD to de ter mine the dis tri bu tion of ve loc i ties and pres sures. The study on the dis tri bu tion of ve loc i ties and pres sures, ac cord ing to lo cal hy dro-me te o ro log i cal char ac ter is tic el e ments, can be used for iden ti fy ing the risk ar… Show more

“…In the context of developing a touristic marina on the Black Sea coast, oceanographic research becomes essential for several reasons [3,4]. Firstly, understanding the quality of the seawater is crucial to assess its suitability for recreational activities, such as swimming, diving and water sports.…”

“…Firstly, understanding the quality of the seawater is crucial to assess its suitability for recreational activities, such as swimming, diving and water sports. It involves monitoring the presence of pollutants, chemicals, and microplastics to minimize the potential risk to both human health and the marine ecosystem [3,4]. Secondly, studying the biodiversity of the Black Sea is vital for maintaining the ecological balance and protecting vulnerable species and habitats.…”

“…The important freshwater intake brought by a large number of rivers, including Danube, Dnieper, Southern Bug, Dniester, Don, and Kuban. These rivers are, also responsible for an essential introduction of pollutants including marine litter [4][5][6].…”
