Simulation Planning for Sustainable Use of Land Resources: Case study in Diamou

Abstract: Abstract:In this study, we presented the simulation planning scheme to project land and land resources use changes at a local scale for Diamou (MALI). Problem statement: All the land cover types were under the influence of human and livestock population. Diamou has undergone changes in land-cover over the last decades. The shifting cultivation system practiced was probably the main reason for this state of affairs. Moreover, the dryness and extensive character of pastoral activities had contributed to the gene… Show more

“…This is especially the case if anthropogenic disturbance regimes are rather severe (Heryati et al, 2011a;Muniandy et al, 2009;Gandaseca et al, 2009). The result would be various land use type patterns (Alfred et al, 2010;Yacouba et al, 2009). Modern vegetation patterns have been shaped and continue to respond to varying degrees of human impacts (Heryati et al, 2011a;Elhadi et al, 2009).…”

“…The approach has broad similarities with the work of Singhtaun and Charnsethikul (2010) except that by excluding setup time and cost they handle a problem that is easier to solve. Abdullah et al (2009), Yacouba et al (2009) adopted a cyclic approach but do so by examining permutation schedules.…”

“…It combines the requirements and the production orders in the planning horizon. Furthermore, lot-sizing rules do not provide the correct period for placing the requirements but they determine the quantity of orders for a part or finished product (Yacouba et al, 2009;Vijay and Manoharan, 2010).…”

“…For example, GIS plays a key and important role in preparing Prayer time map (Aghighi et al, 2008) and it is used for simulation planning for sustainable use of land resources (Yacouba et al, 2009) and for analyzing the concept of spatialfunction in courtyard house layout and its influence to the cultural and social activities (Mustafa and Hassan, 2010). In addition, Liaghat and Balasundram (2010) indicated that Precision Agriculture (PA) can now based on innovative systems approach and these new systems approach depends on a combination of fundamental technologies such as Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), computer modeling, ground based/airborne/satellite remote sensing, variable rate technology and advanced information processing for timely in-season and between season crop management.…”
