“…, with the effective magnetic moment eff µ = 3.36 B µ , the paramagnetic Curie temper ature P Θ = −52 K, and 0 χ = 5.2 10 4 − × − , which is in good agreement with the value of the [110] direction [20]. Here, and B µ are Avogadro's number, Notes: U eq is defined as one third of trace of U ij tensor.…”

“…Single crystals of UPd 2 Cd 20 were grown by the Cd self-flux method [20]. The starting materials, 3N-pure (99.9%) U, 3N-Pd, and 5N-Cd with an excess Cd were placed in an alumina crucible.…”

“…In fact, the Ce 4f states in CeT 2 Al 20 (T = Ti, V, Cr) are found to show a highly hybridized character compared to isostructural CeIr 2 Zn 20 , in which valence instability is observed [38] and finally CeT 2 Cd 20 (T = Ni, Pd) in which Ce 4f hybridization is weak and electrons are fairly localized [39]. Similarly, in UT 2 Al 20 (T = Ti, Cr, Nb, Mo, W) the 5f electrons are strongly delocalized [6,[34][35][36] while in UPd 2 Cd 20 the large local magnetic moment suggests only a weak hybridization [40], with Znbased compounds [41] falling in between the two regimes.…”
