SISPRENACEL: desenvolvimento e avaliação de um sistema de informação e comunicação para a atenção pré-natal

Abstract

Objective: Increase adherence to recommended practices of prenatal care through the development and use of a system that distributes content to pregnant woman through short message service (SMS). Design: Cluster randomized controlled trial. Setting: 20 primary health care facilities (PHCF) in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil. Subject: Women older than 18 years, attending to prenatal care on selected facilities, and that had 20 weeks of gestational age or less during recruitment time. Methods: We developed and deployed an information system to automatically distribute relevant content to pregnant women during prenatal and postnatal care, called SISPRENACEL.
