Abstract:Bifurcation phenomena are common in multi-dimensional multi-parameter dynamical systems. Normal form theory suggests that the bifurcations themselves are driven by relatively few parameters; however, these are often nonlinear combinations of the bare parameters in which the equations are expressed.
