Slot antenna single layer fed by step impedance strip line for Wi‐Fi and Wi‐Max applications

Abstract: To design a slot antenna intended to work at four bandwidth frequency groups, which meet the specifications of (DO,1xRTT-3G), (WiMAX-IEEE802.11e), (WiMAX-IEEE802.16m) and (Wi-Fi.802.11b,g, & n) communications. The slot in the proposed antenna taken the form of the character (Q) that was feed by step impedance micro strip line design open mouth ended. The surface current distribution at resonant frequencies and the effect of varying the dimensions of the parameters on impedance bandwidth had been studied carefu… Show more

“…18 are achieved the operation of L- and S-bands, which are LTE, GPS, GSM, WLAN, and WiMAX applications. Furthermore, refs 3,5 and refs 16,17 are applicable for only S-band (Bluetooth, WiFi, WiMAX and WLAN) operations. Therefore, after detail investigation of the existing antennas in the Table 5 the proposed metamaterial inspired antenna is compact in size, cover lower frequency bands, moderated gain and larger bandwidths and applicable for LTE, WiMAX applications.…”

“…The total dimension of the antenna was 70 × 50 mm 2 and the asymmetrical slot is etched in the ground plate taking the form of the character ‘Q’. The resonance frequency bands from 2.4~2.56 GHz and 3.43~3.78 GHz was utilised for WiFi and WiMAX applications 16 . A compact MIMO antenna (Nandi et al .…”

“…Moreover, a material with simultaneous negative permeability and permittivity (ε < 0 and µ < 0) can be characterised as a double negative metamaterial. Since the last century, various structural meta-atom materials have been utilized for several applications, such as resonators, the electromagnetic absorber [3], electromagnetic band gap, filters [4], SAR reduction, invisible clocking operation [5], antenna design [6], biomedical applications, super-lens, waveguides, etc. Nowadays, because of a large bandwidth, high transmission capacity, and short-range features, many different alphabetical meta-atom structures are used for X-band applications.…”
