Abstract:The differential cross sections for 4.3 MeV neutrons elastically scattered from natural samples of U, Bi, and Pb have been measured at laboratory angles of 5, 10, and 15°. In the case of uranium, the data are consistent with calculations based on the nuclear optical model and known electromagnetic interactions. Less satisfactory agreement to the data is obtained in the cross section measurements for lead and bismuth.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
