Cloud of Things (CoT) is increasingly viewed as a paradigm that can satisfy the diverse requirements of emerging IoT applications. The potential of CoT is not yet realised due to challenges in sharing and reusing IoT physical resources across multiple applications. Existing approaches provide smallscale and hardware-dependent shared access to IoT resources. This paper considers using market mechanisms to commoditise CoT resources as the approach to enable shared access to CoT resources and to improve their reusability. In order to achieve this, the requirements for trading CoT resources are discussed to conceptualise the proposed approach. A generic description model for CoT resource is introduced to quantify the value of CoT resources. In this paper, a marketplace architecture for trading CoT resources referred to as AMACoT is proposed. By formulating the trading of CoT resources as an optimisation problem, the proposed approach is experimentally validated. The evaluation measures the system performance and verifies the optimisation problem using three evolutionary algorithms. The evaluation of the optimisation algorithms demonstrates the optimality of trading CoT resources solutions in terms of resource cost, resource utilisation, provider lock-in and provider profit.

Internet users are keep on increasing every day and may reach billions and billions of users in the next year, the users of android mobiles for connecting their utilities with internet making them saving their time and allow fast and precise data transmission. Most of the communication, entertainment, medical, health, life and educational activities are showcased into the internet to increase the market place better. The increase in android users may also increase the lack of security on our personal data which is saved in the cloud. The study is focused on most of the devices connected with IoT and their decision making capability on sensible things like real word sensor data or malwares etc. The methodologies user in the industry to safeguard the data, the techniques involved in the detection of malwares etc. The study also motivate us to find out the extendable research focus on Resilient management in IoT devices during malware detection.

A Cost Analysis of Internet of Things Sensor Data Storage on Blockchain via Smart Contracts

Blockchain is a developing technology that can be utilized for secure data storage and sharing. In this work, we examine the cost of Blockchain-based data storage for constrained Internet of Things (IoT) devices. We had two phases in the study. In the first phase, we stored data retrieved from a temperature/humidity sensor connected to an Ethereum testnet blockchain using smart contracts in two different ways: first, appending the new data to the existing data, storing all sensor data; and second, overwriting the new data onto the existing data, storing only a recent portion of the data. In the second phase, we stored simulated data from several sensors on the blockchain assuming sensor data is numeric. We proposed a method for encoding the data from the sensors in one variable and compared the costs of storing the data in an array versus storing the encoded data from all sensors in one variable. We also compared the costs of carrying out the encoding within the smart contract versus outside the smart contract. In the first phase, our results indicate that overwriting data points is more cost-efficient than appending them. In the second phase, using the proposed encoding method to store the data from several sensors costs significantly less than storing the data in an array, if the encoding is done outside the smart contract. If the encoding is carried out in the smart contract, the cost is still less than storing the data in an array, however, the difference is not significant. The study shows that even though expensive, for applications where the integrity and transparency of data are crucial, storing IoT sensor data on Ethereum could be a reliable solution.
