Abstract:In The Birth of Energy (2019), Cara New Daggett offers an incisive critique of the dominant thermodynamic concept of energy. ‘Energy’, Daggett shows, is inextricably tied to an exploitative productivist politics that extols the virtues of work and the sins of waste.
