Smart energy management systems: a literature review

Abstract: Recently smart energy management systems (SEMS) have been developed extremely fast. The significant methods facilitate SEMS to sustain system scheming via demand responses, possibly together with peak shaving and load changing as well as a few additional services. This paper reviews the thought of SEMS and looks into its environment. It highlights the SEMS most important apparatus and moderately analyzes a different technical approach. In adding together discuss a number of the concern and challenge as well as… Show more

“…When modelling these systems, a typical model consists of a power source (such as solar PV), energy consumption data of appliances, flexible load (for example electric vehicles and water heaters), objective functions for the system, constraints, and a scheduling algorithm for the system, as shown in Figure 1 [2,6,10,11]. The scheduling algorithm uses the electricity consumption from appliances and flexible load and electricity production from power resources to create a schedule that would fulfil the objectives of the system within the given constraints [12,13].…”

“…The FLC improves battery life and also will achieve desirable SoC.An FLC based EMS grid integrated MG is adopted and to mitigate power quality issues under nonlinear, unbalanced load conditions. To improve power quality THD is key factor and THD can be reduced by adopting proposed system [10]. The proposed model is implemented by using MATLAB/SIMULINK.…”
