Smart ignorance: Instrumentalising useful unknowns to bureaucratise and rescale power in the city

Abstract: Critical geography inextricably associates smart cities with modalities of entrepreneurial governance, the privatisation of government assets and functions, and an effectively diminished role of the state in urban governance.
