Abstract-The paper explains various security issues in the existing home automation systems and proposes the use of logic based security algorithms to improve home security. The work classifies natural access points to a home as primary and secondary access points depending on their use. Logic based sensing is implemented by identifying normal user behavior at these access points and requesting user verification when necessary. User position is also considered when various access points changed states. Moreover, the algorithm also verifies the legitimacy of a fire alarm by measuring the change in temperature, humidity and carbon monoxide levels, thus defending against manipulative attackers. The experiment conducted in this paper used a combination of sensors, microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi and ZigBee communication to identify user behavior at various access points and implement the logical sensing algorithm. In the experiment the proposed logical sensing algorithm was successfully implemented for a month in a studio apartment. During the course of the experiment the algorithm was able to detect all the state changes of the primary and secondary access points and also successfully verified user identity 55 times generating 14 warnings and 5 alarms.

Safety is one of the most important issues in professional trade. With the development of society many social evils are also increasing day by day. The antisocial activities like theft, robbery and burglary are causing headache to civilized society and hence should be eradicated at any cost. In Indian malls, presently most of the shops are locked with shutters. These are not the safest ways since most of the times these can be simply broken by gas cutters. So, more secure way is needed to get rid of such issues. Global System for Mobiles (GSM) is rapidly advancing mobile communication technology and the decrease in costs make it possible to incorporate mobile technology into varies systems. Smartphones have also rapidly incorporated in day to day life, making it possible to use in security systems. In proposed technique, unauthenticated openings of shutters of shops in mall are alerted locally and wirelessly by sending smartphone notifications. Proposed system will be very useful to shop owners and can be extended with password enabled digital shutter lock and remote control system, if required. Proposed system describes battery operated module connected by IR sensors and buzzers for alerting purpose.

Pervasive Social Computing is a novel collective paradigm, derived from pervasive computing, social media, social networking, social signal processing, etc. This paper reviews Pervasive Social Computing as an integrated computing environment, which promises to augment five facets of human intelligence: physical environment awareness, behavior awareness, community awareness, interaction awareness, and content awareness. Reviews of related studies are given, and their generic architectures are designed. The resulting architecture for Pervasive Social Computing is presented. A prototype is developed and examined, in order to investigate the characteristics exhibited by Pervasive Social Computing.
