Soap‐based detergent formulations: VII. Sodium methyl alkylbenzoylsulfopropionates as lime soap dispersing agents

Abstract: Research was performed on the development of lime soap dispersing agents derived from alkylbenzenes. The sulfonation with sodium bisulfite of a variety of methyl/$-p-alkylbenzoylacrylates (III) produced adducts (I) whose detergent properties were studied. Yields were optimized, model compounds were synthesized, and products characterized by NMR spectroscopy.
