Abstract:Objectives: There is little nationally representative information about factors associated with longevity among older Brazilians. Methods: Baseline survey data from the Brazilian longitudinal Study of Aging (ELSI-Brazil) were linked to vital statistics systems. Mortality rates and life expectancy estimates were calculated and compared to official sources.
