Abstract:This paper describes the effects of soil non-homogeneity, the soil–structure interaction and the two-parameter elastic foundation model on the free vibration of Euler–Bernoulli beams. Non-homogeneity of the soil foundation is described by parabolic variations of the two-parameter elastic soil foundation while Poisson's ratio is assumed to remain constant. Hence, the soil–structure interaction is quantified using a relative ratio of beam and soil foundation properties. The equation of motion including the previ… Show more
“…The sixth paper is an interesting research from Algeria (Widad et al, 2021) that deals with a classic but still not fully explored theme: the soil-structure interaction. The authors studied the soil non-homogeneity and soil-structure interaction effects on beam vibrations.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
