Soluble, thermally stable poly(amide-ester)s containing pyridine pendent group

Abstract: The nitro group of 4-(p-nitrobenzyl)pyridine was converted to amino group and 4-(p-aminobenzyl)pyridine was prepared by catalytic hydrogenation using hydrazine hydrate/Pd-C system. Reaction of 4-(p-aminobenzyl)pyridine with 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid under appropriate conditions yielded a new diacid containing amide group and pyridine unit. The prepared substances were characterized using FT-IR, H-NMR, and mass spectroscopy and also elemental analysis. Polycondensation reactions of the diacid with differe… Show more

“…It can be observed that the absorption peaks around 1,640 and 1,545 cm −1 in PPTA fiber, which correspond to the C = O stretching vibration of amide and C-N stretching vibration, respectively (Yang et al, 2011), were weakened after modifications and appeared red-shifted in PPTA-AM samples. The peak at 1,574 cm −1 attributed to the in-plane bending vibration absorption of -NH 2 (from APTES) (Mehdipouratae et al, 2013) was present in PPTA-PAPSQ (Wang et al, 2017) but absent in all PPTA-AM samples. This may be due to the interactions between the thiol groups in MPTES and the amino groups in APTES.…”

“…7 Thus were obtained new types of soluble, thermally stable poly(amide-ester)s containing pyridine pendent group that can be used in high-performance applications. 8 Also, modified bismaleimides and bisnadimides with pyridine heteroaromatic rings, 9 polyamides, and polyimides by inclusion of hetero aromatic ring of pyrimidine, 10 polyimide based on diaminopyridine which can be used as membrane for immobilization of glucose oxidase, 11 pyridine based polyimide films with low dielectric constant and low coefficient of thermal expansion applied in microelectronic fields, 12 or novel linear and branched polyimides containing trifunctional pyridine-based monomers were obtained. 13 New liquid crystalline polymers containing both fluorescent and photo-crosslinking properties were obtained with aromatic pyridine heterocyclic units.…”
