Solvent‐Based Soft‐Patterning of Graphene Lateral Heterostructures for Broadband High‐Speed Metal–Semiconductor–Metal Photodetectors

Abstract: Solvents are essential in synthesis, transfer, and device fabrication of 2D materials and their functionalized forms. Controllable tuning of the structure and properties of these materials using common solvents can pave new and exciting pathways to fabricate high-performance devices. However, this is yet to be materialized as solvent effects on 2D materials are far from well understood. Using fluorine functionalized chemical vapor deposited graphene (FG) as an example, and in contrast to traditional "hard-patt… Show more

“…Compared with the other types of defects, one characteristic feature of sp 3 -type defects is that such defects can be partially recovered under specific conditions. 235,240,246 In the case of 16,66 oxidized graphene, 131 and graphite with different grain sizes. 236 The solid lines are eye guides.…”

“…Furthermore, an interdigitated graphene/Si/graphene (metal-semiconductor-metal) photodetector with equally spaced 10 µm wide graphene-fluorographene fingers was fabricated. [248] For one of the numerous device concepts, Si QDs came into play to achieve graphene/Si Schottky-junction photodetectors. [76] Also, for sensitive mid-IR photodetection, a graphene hybrid phototransistor in conjuction with plasmonic-doped Si QDs was demonstrated.…”
