Two simple palladium(II) pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide complexes coordinated to CuAAC derived "click" 1,2,3-triazole ligands are described. Addition of a more basic 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) ligand to these palladium(II) "click" complexes leads to complete displacement of the 1,2,3-triazole ligands by DMAP. The process can be completely reversed by treatment with acid. Figure 2. Partial stacked 1 H NMR spectra ([D 6 ]DMSO, 400 MHz, 298 K) of a) [(L1)Pd(DMAP)], b) a 1:1 mixture of [(L1)Pd(tri)] and DMAP, c) a 1:1 mixture of [(L1)Pd(tri)] and DMAP after addition of TsOH (1.2 equiv.), d) the acidic mixture shown in (c) after addition of NaOH (1.2 equiv.) and e) [(L1)Pd(tri)].
