Transition Metal Complexes as Counterions. -Compounds (IVa,b) crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/n with Z = 2, and compounds (V) and (VI) in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with Z = 4. (IV) and (V) contain [Sn2Se6] 4anions and [Ni(en) 3 ] 2+ or [M(en)(trien)] 2+ (M: Co, Ni) cations. Compounds (IV) are the first examples of [Sn2Se6] 4compounds containing transition metal complexes with mixed amine ligands. In the case of using the pure trien solvent, the large dinuclear [Ni2(trien)2(μ-trien)] 4+ complex cation appears to prevent the formation of the [Sn2Se6] 4anion, demonstrating the different structure directing effects of the complex cations on the formation of the [Sn 2 Se 6 ] 4anion. -(LIANG, J.; CHEN, J.; ZHAO, J.; PAN, Y.; ZHANG, Y.; JIA*, D.; Z.
