Abstract:The article presents the actual problem of using statistical data for mathematical modeling of social relationships. The possibility of using models of social diffusion is investigated. It is concluded that mathematical models of innovation diffusion are suitable for describing the dynamics of sustainable social systems. Specific examples show the limitations in using these models for systems in which growth alternates with decline.
