Abstract:The interaction of biologically active molecules with macromolecular receptors is analyzed in terms of preferred intermolecular orientation and the resulting intermolecular forces. The concept of an interaction pharmacophore representing a reactivity index for biologically active molecules and the representation of this pharmacophore by molecular electrostatic potentials are discussed and illustrated. A theoretical method for the analysis o f multiple-site interactions of large molecules is presented in terms … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
