Sonochemical-assisted magnesium borate synthesis from different boron sources

Abstract: In this study, sonochemical-assisted magnesium borate synthesis is studied from different boron sources. Various reaction parameters are successfully applied by a simple and green method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopies are used to characterize the synthesized magnesium borates on the other hand surface morphologies are investigated by using scanning electron microscope (SEM 01-070-1902. The results that found in the spectroscopic studies were in a good agr… Show more

“…The spectrum shows two peaks at 1020 (cm −1 ) and 1180 (cm −1 ). These two peaks are linked to the asymmetric stretching of the BO 4 group in Mg 2 B 2 O 5 [ 26 , 27 ]. The bands at 1380 (cm −1 ) are strong absorption that stands for the asymmetric stretching of the BO 3 group.…”

“…Kipcak et al carried out the sonochemistryassisted synthesis of magnesium borate where magnesium chloride hexahydrate and different boron sources (borax, tincalconite, boric acid, and boron oxide) were used as the precursor materials. [95] The synthesis yields were higher than 80%, and the outcomes were MgO(B 2 O 3 ) 3 •7H 2 O with high crystallinity by the XRD analyses. Pinkas et al obtained insoluble amorphous uranium phosphates from UO 2 2+ precursors in highboiling trialkyl phosphate solutions by sonication.…”

“…The comparison of the Admontite morphologies synthesized by the ultrasonic liquidstate method and the traditional liquid-state method was presented in Figure 6.Asis seen in Figure 5. In comparison with the traditional liquid-state methods, smaller particle sizes were observed in the use of ultrasonic-assisted synthesis techniques [6,42].…”
