Sonochemical Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Antimicrobial Property of One‐dimensional Dinuclear Coordination Polymer

Abstract: Dinuclear 1D coordination polymer of [NaCu2(pdc)2(H2O)4(OH)]n (1) (H2pdc = Pyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylic acid) was synthesized by the solvothermal method, and its structure was investigated by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. 1 has zigzag chains, which are converted to a 3D network through hydrogen bond interactions. Also, 1 was synthesized by sonochemical method (1‐Sono). The structures of 1 and 1‐Sono were characterized by FT‐IR, XRD, FE‐SEM and thermogravimetric (TG) techniques. Antibacterial activity… Show more

“…The effectiveness of GEM, GEM@ZIF, and ZIF-8 against bacteria was measured by agar well diffusion and broth dilution assays. 39,40 Escherichia coli, ATCC 25922 (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus, ATCC 25923 (S. aureus) were selected as Gramnegative and Gram-positive bacteria models, respectively. In the agar well diffusion assay, bacteria were cultured at a standard concentration of 1 Â 10 6 CFU mL À1 (0.5 McFarland) on preprepared plates containing sterile Mueller Hinton Agar medium.…”

“…50 µL of 10 -4 dilution was inoculated on the agar media and spread using a L-shape spreader. Further, three holes with a diameter of 6 mm are punched aseptically with a sterile cork borer [52][53][54]. 10 mg, 20 mg and 30 mg of PVA and PVA-E-Pz was dissolved in 1 mL of sterile water and a volume of 100 µL of the sample was introduced into the wells.…”
