Sound Absorption Properties Evaluation and Analysis of Recycled Tyre Textile Fibre Waste

Abstract: Modern world is exposed to various environmental concerns which are closely related to human health condition. Since the automatization, world became vulnerable to the noise and the waste amounts generated. World Health Organization report states, due to noise, Western Europe each year loses approximately 1 million of healthy life years. However, noise is not the only concern. Tyres, since they were banned from the landfills, became enormous problem in a modern society. Approximately 2.6 million tonnes of tyre… Show more

“…The acoustic characterization of materials is based on their sound absorption coefficient. It is defined as the absorbed energy in the absorbent divided by incident energy [ 69 ]. The sound absorption can be calculated by the tube method according to the International Standard ISO10534 [ 70 ].…”

“…When sound waves propagate in conjugated materials, electrons in the molecular structure can interact with the energy of sound waves, resulting in resonance absorption. Resonant materials have a better energy absorption effect than ordinary materials, so conjugated materials have a wide range of applications in the field of acoustics ( Ruickij et al, 2020 ). The calculation formula for the sound absorption coefficient is: …”
