Spatially Uniform Lithiation Enabled by Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

Abstract: Uncontrolled volume changes in Si-based anode materials drastically deteriorate the electron-conduction network, accelerating the capacity fading. From a macroscopic viewpoint, the use of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) as conductive additives has been confirmed to help preserve electron-conduction channels. However, the specific mechanism of how SWCNTs behave in Si-based anodes remains unclear. Herein, we investigate the role of SWCNTs in the pulverization behavior of Si-based anode materials at the … Show more

“…The term "responsive factor" typically refers to specific sensitive substances that undergo changes in response to external stimuli. For instance, photoresponsive materials commonly include polyvinylpyrrolidone [72,73] and TiO 2 , [74,75] electric-responsive materials encompass graphene, [76,77] carbon nanotubes, [78,79] and metal oxides, [80,81] while magnetic-responsive materials comprise Fe, Co, Ni, [82] as well as iron oxides (Fe 3 O 4 , [83,84] γ-Fe 2 O 3 [85,86] ), among others. Noteworthy external environmental stimuli include light, electricity, and magnetism.…”

“…26 In addition, the conductive network is also a key factor determining the stability and lifespan of Si-based anodes. [27][28][29][30] In practice, Si-based anodes usually contain conductive carbon, among which CNTs are the most commonly used. Researchers have found large differences in Li + diffusion and electrochemical performance among Si-based anodes when using different CNTs as conductive networks.…”
