“…Following the execution of Yangtze River Protection Strategy, along with the implementation of a series of measures, the indicators (water quality, fish diversity, wetland area, and so forth) of the Yangtze River ecosystem have been improved. 8 , 9 , 10 Monitoring of the water quality of the Yangtze River revealed a distinct improvement in water quality with gradual decrease in the frequency of anoxic conditions, alleviation of the severity of heavy metal pollution, and moderate mitigation of eutrophication in recent years.
