Abstract

Content and main results of the Papers of this Special IssueXu et al. ( 2022) investigated the residue of tetracycline antibiotics (TCs) in soil and Brassica juncea var. gemmifera and the diversity of soil bacterial community under different livestock manure treatments of major large-scale farms in Chongquing, China. Effects of TCs on the structure diversity of soils microbial community were also investigated by high-throughput sequencing. The results show that TCs content in soil was increased by applying livestock manure. The increment order can be ranked as pig manure > chicken manure > biogas residue. Also, the TCs in edible parts of B. juncea var. gemmifera was increased after livestock manure treatment. The soil OTUs under the treatment pig manure was higher than that under the treatment of chicken manure. Biogas residue (livestock manure after fermentation treatment) can effectively reduce the environmental and ecological risks caused by TCs. Mench et al. (2022) assessed the influence of five organic amendments differing in their composition and production process and spring barley to phytomanage a Cu/PAH contaminated soil.
